Board of Directors' Meeting

Minutes
Attendance: Harry Bristol, Ross Frazer, Jere Ahrens, John Putnam, Lisa Ward, Jeanne Marosis,
Mark Spradling, Cindy Sparkman
Other:
1. Minutes of 9/6/95 - motion by John Putnam, second by Jere Ahrens, approved unanimously.
2. Treasurer's Report - Jere Ahrens - approximately $71,000 (unaudited)
3. Committee Reports:
a. Foundations - Ross Frazer - Ross is expecting a reply from Houston Endowment sometime this month.
McGovern Foundation request in meeting in October, and expect reply in November (to Jere Ahrens). Jere will
also contact the Fondren Foundation. Linda Gray is nurturing Cullen & Enron. Linda will also contact the
Duncan Foundation.
b. ParkFest - general discussion on this topic - continue as Friends event? Looking for chair.
c. Park Lover's Ball - Beverly Loftis - general discussion - see attached report.
d. Grassroots - Mark Spradling - Eighteen pavers on order. This is almost one half of amount needed to do
some engraving.
4. New/other business -
a. Re-appointing of Advisory Board members - John Putnam has not received any replies from current
members. He nominated Steve Lawrence, Elizabeth Lawrence, and Julia Findley. Second by Mark Spradling,
unanimous approval.
5. Adjournment - motion by John Putnam, second by Jeanne Marosis. Meeting adjourned at 7:40pm.
