I. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:35 pm by Chairman Russ Schulze.
II. Citizen Comments: None
III. March Minutes: The minutes of the March, 2008 meeting were approved as written.
IV. Friends Board Report:
1. Joni submitted a written report which is appended to these minutes.
V. Acquisition Sub-Committee: The sub-committee did not meet this month. Janine asked if
we could make arrangements to send the "we're interested" letter. Russ prefers to wait
until after the Town Hall meeting on April 23. Dave suggested that we might want to make
a more personal approach since the number of homeowners to be contacted is small.
VI. Park Planning Project
1. Russ gave an overview of the approach that will be taken in giving the presentation.
2. Janine asked about the costs/benefits of the deep water well.
VII. Staff Reports: Tim O'Connor submitted a written report which was distributed electronically
and is appended to these minutes.
Tim mentioned that the turnout for Meet The City Day was great. Dave agreed that the event is a
good way for the community to get acquainted with staff.
Bids are out for a security system for the tennis courts. The system includes card readers and
photo ids. A suggestion was made that we try signs with the usage rules as a first step.
Russ reminded us that the tennis tournament has been rescheduled for April 18-20, and that the
classical concert series dates are April 11, 18, and 25.
Tim is convening a small group to review elements and color schemes for the new equipment at
Weir Park.
VIII. Board Reports:
1. Whitt Johnson: There is no firm date for the installation of the "tree house" structure.
Tim is obtaining a quote for repainting/refinishing the sport court.
2. Weir Park: The water fountain needs to be adjusted again. The gate on Sunset doesn't
latch properly.
3. Colonial: Can we add a trash can on Case? Tim suggested that some of the equipment
from Weir can be redeployed.
IX. New Business: None
X. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 pm by Chairman Schulze. Our next meeting
is scheduled for May 7, 2008 at 6:30 pm.
