Board of Directors' Meeting
December 7, 1994 * 6:15 p.m. * City Hall
Minutes
Attendance: Mark Mailes, Bob Geary, Carolyn Rappozzo, Laura Tyler, Donna Buja, Ross Frazer, Kurt
Jaeckle, Linda Gray, Jeanne Marosis, John Putnam
Other: Connie Spencer, Johanna Weems, Cindy Sparkman
1. Approval of Minutes of 11/2/94 motion by Jeanne Marosis; second by Linda Gray;
unanimously approval
2. Treasurer's Report - Jere Ahrens - $89,662.99 (unaudited)
3. Committee Reports:
a. Foundations - Ross Frazer and Bob Geary
General report - no new funds secured; new foundation assignments will be made for 1995 &
reporting/tracking system will be enhanced
b. Parkfest - Carol Burke - no report
c. Park Lovers' Ball - Linda Gray
Progress is smooth. More auction items are needed. All FWUP members are urged to put a table
together and talk the ball up. Our goal is to raise $75,000.
d. Grassroots - Mark Spradling
WUP children are selling ornaments in front of JMH & handing out info on FWUP & its
activities.
5. New/other business
Mark Mailes reported that construction @ Wier Park is progressing rapidly. Several members
commented on how good the new park looks and on the positive comments they have
received/heard regarding it.
Mark Mailes also discussed two change orders for the park: 1) enhancements to the drainage
system estimated at $1500.00, and 2) addition of an ornamental fence which would match the
perimeter fencing and replace the existing chain link fence at the west end of the tennis court
(estimated at $2400.00).
Linda Gray motioned the FWUP approve tranfer of funds ($3900.00) from its budget for use
by the Parks Board in accomplishing this task. Jeanne Marosis seconded the motion and it passed
unanimously.
