Board of Directors' Meeting
August 3, 1994 * 6:15 p.m. * Conference Room - City Hall
MINUTES
Attendance: Ross Frazer, Beverly Loftis, Linda Gray, Mark Mailes, Donna Buja, Jere Ahrens, Jeanne
Maros is
1. Treasurer's Report - Jere Ahrens - $181,000
2. Approval of Minutes of 07/06/94 - motion by Beverly Loftis; second by Donna Buja; unanimous
approval
3. Committee Reports:
a. Foundations - Ross Frazer and Bob Geary
Ross Frazer reported that the Cooley Foundation did not receive the information sent them. He will
resend. Beverly Loftis & Harry Bristol are working the Houston Endowment contact. Both know
individuals on the board. Donna Buja reported that the Scurlock Foundation had received the campaign
info. Their meeting is in late September. Linda Gray has gathered quite a bit of information regarding
the Cullen Foundation from Mimi Traylor. She will send the campaign info in late August.

b. Parkfest - to be combined w/City's 4th of July celebration in 1995
Mark Mailes brought up the subject that the festivities will have to be planned around a lack of City
labor as this is a holiday for them.
Discussion was also held at this time about a fall fund-raiser. The ideas of a Fun Run or Home Tour
were discussed.
c. Park Lovers' Ball - Linda Gray
Linda reported that Ginni Mithoff and Gayle Jackson are beginning the underwriting effort. She will
have another meeting of the Ball committee in late August.
d. Grassroots - Mark Spradling - No report.
5. New/other business
Forum Awards Celebration - Beverly Loftis (Nominating Chair) presented the following list of people
to be honored at the Celebration on September 9, 1994: Jeanne Marosis, Connie Spencer, Linda
Masera, Gayle Jackson, larry Massey, Ross Frazer, Lynn Miller, Jere Ahrens, Tamara Armstrong,
Margaret Sanchez, Ginni Mithoff and Lynne Huston.
Linda Gray motioned that these people's names be submitted the the Forum Awards Committee for
recognition of their volunteer efforts. Beverly Loftis seconded the motion and it passed unanimously
(Jere Ahrens, Ross Frazer and Jeanne Marosis abstained from voting).
6. Adjournment
There being no further business, Ross Frazer asked for a motion to adjourn. Beverly Loftis so moved
and M Mailes seconded; unanimous approval adjourned the meeting @a 7:30 p.m.
