Notice of Zoning & Planning Commission Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the Zoning & Planning Commission (Z&PC) and members of the
City Council of the City of West University Place, Texas will hold a meeting on:
July 12, 2007 beginning at 6:00 p.m.
in the Bill Watson Conference Room of the Municipal Building,
3800 University Boulevard, West University Place, Texas
The subject(s) of the meeting are as follows:
[Call to order]
1. Minutes. Matters relating to minutes from the June 14, 2007 meeting.
2. Topics for review for 2006 - 2007; Other Amendments. Other possible amendments to
the Zoning Ordinance, including: (i) garage and driveway regulations, including related
setback, sidewalk, maneuvering area, parking and building regulations; (ii) replacement
mechanical equipment; (iii) old-stock housing, including revised definition and relaxed
building regulations for old-stock housing; (iv) miscellaneous structures located in yards,
including fountains, arbors, trellises, sculptures and other similar structures, and (v) related
matters.
3. Town Center and Commercial Areas; PDD's. Matters relating to the town center area
(generally along Edloe near University and Rice Boulevards) and other commercial areas
(the C District and areas with existing non-residential uses), including but not limited to
future development, platting and replatting, planned development districts (PDD's), school
improvements, street and right-of-way issues, signs, sidewalks and pedestrian
improvements, possible rezoning and modification of zoning regulations, possible design
guidelines for developments (including draft resolution) and the following:
a. Possible PDD's and specific use permits in or near the town center area
b. Other amendments of the zoning ordinance and other ordinances
c. Related matters, including public improvements
4. Framed Area and Other Building Regulations; Amendments. Matters relating to
framed area regulations (sometimes called the "80% rule") and related regulations,
including bulk limits, height regulations (including height limit in front yard), yards or
setbacks (including buildings in rear yard) and related building regulations, building
envelope (or "light plane") regulations; possible amendment of the Zoning Ordinance.
