Notice of Zoning & Planning Commission Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the Zoning & Planning Commission (Z&PC) and members of the
City Council of the City of West University Place, Texas will hold a meeting on:
May 8, 2008 beginning at 6:15 p.m.
in the Bill Watson Conference Room of the Municipal Building,
3800 University Boulevard, West University Place, Texas
The subject(s) of the meeting are as follows:
[Call to order]
1. Minutes. Matters relating to minutes from the April 10, 2008 meetings.
2. Miscellaneous Amendments/Updates. Matters relating to possible amendments or updates
to the Zoning Ordinance, including: (i) garage and driveway regulations, including related
setback, sidewalk, maneuvering area, parking and building regulations; (ii) replacement
mechanical equipment; (iii) old-stock housing, including revised definition and relaxed
building regulations for old-stock housing; (iv) miscellaneous strictures located in yards,
including fountains, arbors, trellises, sculptures and other similar structures, (v) clarify
definition of "stricture, " and (vi) related matters.
3. Variances and special exceptions. Matters relating to variances and special exceptions,
including: (i) basic concepts, (ii) recent court decisions, (iii) possible amendment of the
Zoning Ordinance to add criteria and limitations and (iv) related matters.
4. Excavations and Underground Structures. Matters relating to excavations and
underground structures and related issues.

meeting. The Municipal Building is wheel chair accessible from the west entrance and
specially marked parking spaces are available in the sot thwest parking area. Special seating
will be provided in the Council Chambers.
