SENIOR SERVICES BOARD
December 10, 1987

CALL TO ORDER:
Meeting was called to order at 3:30 p.m. by Jane Breazeal. She presented
Joan with a certificate of appreciation from the Board. Millie Chapin
presented her with a carnation corsage.
ROLL CALL:
Roll was called by the Secretary, Lear, McRoberts. The only absentee was
Ken Pearce, Treasurer, whose report was omitted.
MINUTES:
Minutes of the last meeting were read by the Secretary and approved.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
December 22, Cellar Door will cater the Christmas party for Seniors
@ $4.00 each.
Letters to merchants have been sent requesting gifts for the party.
MONTHLY REPORT:
Joan gave the monthly report. Joan gave us a lovely card from Nan thank-
ing us and returning the check for her glasses, which were returned by
mail.
APAC REPORT:
Mr. Wickerham attended the meeting. Please see attached report.
MEALS ON WHEELS:
Mrs. Turner says Armour will do the Christmas meals and serve them on

a china plate. AARP will probably supply each person with a personal
gift.
Mr. Wickerham was instrumental in getting a donation of $1500 from
St. Andrew's church and also a private donation from a member for $200.
GARDEN CLUB:
Mrs. Worstell reported the club will have luncheon December 17. She
will try to get some West University history.
OLD BUSINESS:
Volunteer luncheon was very successful, enjoyed by all.
The Dickens on the Strand trip was most successful.
Thanksgiving Dinner by the Bellaire students was very successful.
Seventy Seniors were served.
Christmas gifts for the city tree were wrapped by volunteers.
NEW BUSINESS:
Senior wing floors will be refinished this month.
A projector will be mounted on the ceiling to project pictures
provided by the new VCR. Money for this was budgeted. Dalia Stokes
has a list of films available.
Note:
Mrs. Cullinan would like her silver returned. The city will have to do
this.
Joan invited the Board to the Christmas party.

APAC REPORT
M. D. Wickerham
December 12, 1987
APAC met on Thursday, December 3rd at their new office location in
the City Health Services at 8000 Stadium Drive.
A very short business session with no committee reports was followed
by a social period. Several long time volunteers were recognized
for their years of service. Also, those people receiving free
Christmas trips from Southwest Airlines were present to show their
appreciation.
New officers for 1988 were introduced, and the last meeting for this
year was closed.
