City of DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION West University FINANCE TAX MUNICIPAL COURT DATA PROCESSING Place, Texas PERSONNEL AND PURCHASING February 22, 1988 To: Richard R. Rockenbaugh City Manager From: Donna L. Sims Director of Administration Subject: Senior Service Van Fund You will recall that contributions were made by citizens several months ago to a Van Fund for Senior Services. The van has since been budgeted and purchased through annual appropriations. We have $1,369.65 accumulated in that account. As Joan has indicated those contributors have authorized an alternate use of the collected funds. Joan would like to purchase a personal computer for record keeping purposes. This purchase would tie in with our overall data processing plan since we eventually wanted to tie recreation and senior services in to our system. The purchase of I.B.M. equipment would allow us to take advantage of the sizeable state discount, in addition to being compatible with our existing hardware. Purchase of this item would have no budget impact, since funds are available in the Citizens Contribution Senior Services Account 401-00-00-8455. A budget amendment would be required at year end to allow for the revenue transfer and the additional expenditure. Total cost for the purchase follows: Personal System 2 Model 30, 640 k 2 Floppy Disks (includes 37% discount) software TOTAL COST TOTAL AVAILABLE Please advise at your earliest convenience. xc: Audrey Nichols City Secretary Curtis Cooper Director of Operations `Joan Eccles Senior Service Coordinator $1,224.00 84.00 $1,308.00 $1,369.65
