HomeMy WebLinkAboutssminutes120993SENIOR SERVICES BOARD MINUTES DECEMBER 9, 1993 MEMBERS PRESENT: Sharon Reusser, Manager Dorothy Rieger, Chairperson Mary Lee Gray, Secretary Randy Hardy, Treasurer Marie Fish Ida Fuex Tam Malloy John Monahan Ruth Nelson Dalia Stokes M.D. Wickerham MEMBERS ABSENT: Leonard Townley Dottie Shaw The Senior Services Board met in the Senior Wing of the Community Building. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Dorothy Rieger, Chairperson. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The Board approved the minutes as read- MONTHLY REPORT The monthly report was read by Sharon Reusser. TREASURER'S REPORT Randy Hardy read the treasurer's report. APAC REPORT M.D. Wickerham reported that no formal APAC was held in December. MEALS ON WHEELS Tom Malloy reported that additional drivers were needed, although several had already been added. COUNCIL MEETING REPORT Dorothy Rieger reported that the Council passed an anti-stalking ordinance. She also said that a number of speakers protested the proposed revised tree ordinance. Also, West University Methodist Church is seeking a permit to encroach on an easement. Ida Feux attended the meeting in Weir Park that lasted approximately seven minutes because of inclement weather. The meeting was to discuss private pools. It was also reported that a group of retired men had offered to make home repairs for persons who could not afford repairs. However, permits would be required. OLD BUSINESS After discussion, the Board passed a resolution to formally protest changes in garbage and trash pickup. NEW BUSINESS Dalhia Stokes reported the Task Force composed of the chairpersons of City Committees met to discuss changes in the tree ordinance. In order to obtain public input, the Task Force scheduled a public meeting for January 15, 1994, at 9 a.m. i n Ci ty Hal 1. The Task Force wi 11 reconvene of ter the public meeting. Sharon Reusser reported changes in mailings of the programs and calendar necessitated by budget cuts in postage. MOTION TO ADJOURN Marie Fish mde the motion, Randy Hardy seconded.
