The Senior Services Board met in the Senior Wing of the Community Center.
CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by the chairman, John Monahan.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Tom Malloy moved to approve the minutes, Dalia Stokes seconded.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Sharon Reusser read the announcements.
MONTHLY REPORT:
Sharon Reusser read the monthly report.
TREASURER'S REPORT:
The treasurer's report was reviewed by the Chairman in the absense of the treasurer.
AARP REPORT:
Ruth Ann Wissel reported that the activities of the group have included a trip to Conroe and a
talk by an expert on Houston area birds.
SUNSHINE MEALS ON WHEELS:
Tom Malloy reported that current clients include 52 regular clients and one floater. All clients
recently had an opportunity to receive free smoke detectors through the Houston Fire
Department. The majority of the clients took advantage of the offer. West University will
install the detectors without charge.
CITY COUNCIL MEETING:
Dorothy Rieger reported on the ongoing discussions abnout the city bond issue, particularly how
it will be paid for.
NEW BUSINESS:
Dalia Stokes suggested regenereating a list of addresses and phone numbers for board members.
Sharon Reusser introduced the new board member, Dianne Rogers.
Board members signed a letter of appreciation to the family of Florence LeBlanc for their
donation to Senior Services in her memory.
ADJOURNMENT:
Dalia Stokes moved to adjourn; Ruth Ann Wissel seconded.
