The Senior Services Board met in the Senior Wing of the Community Building.
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by John Monahan, Chairperson.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes read by the secretary. Tom Malloy motioned to accept; Randy Hardy seconded.
PREVIEWS AND MONTHLY REPORT
Sharon Reusser read the previews and monthly report.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Randy Hardy made the treasurer's report.
AARP REPORT
Ruth Ann Wissel reported that the group were planning a covered dish dinner. The Harbor
Lights Choir would perform. John Monahan added a comment about the increased amount of
paper work necessary in connection with the AARP tax preparation program.
SUNSHINE MEALS ON WHEELS
Tom Malloy reported that the CCSC still needs additional volunteers. Randy Hardy will make
the announcement to the Rotary Club. Tom Malloy also gave a general overview of the work of
the CCSC, including the meals delivery, assistance to persons in distress, the job-net program,
the Jingle Bell Express, and the resale shop.
COUNCIL MEETING REPORT
Dorothy Rieger said the City Council is considering lowering speed limits around parks. Judson
Park renovation is now being planned by the Parks Committee. She also reported that the city
has hired a firm to develop the renovations for City Hall. City Council also renewed its contract
with West University Bank for banking services; approved new furniture for Public Works
($32,000); and approved David Donaldson as search agent for a new city manager.
OLD BUSINESS
The St. George volunteers were presented with $150 for the church building fund.
NEW BUSINESS
John Monahan said that all city board chairs have been requested to make reports to City
Council. He will appear April 8. The Board discussed activities to be included in the overview.
Sharon Reusser announced that she will be on vacation during the next Board meeting. She
also said that the senior services office will be closed on Good Friday.
Dalia Stokes said that the Historical Society is searching for an appropriate property for a city
museum and archives.
