CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Dorothy Rieger, acting chairperson. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes read by the secretary, who corrected "Exxon" to read "Chevron." Dalia Stokes motioned to accept; Ruth Nelson seconded. PREVIEWS AND MONTHLY REPORT Sharon Reusser read the previews and monthly report. TREASURER'S REPORT In the treasurer's absence, Ruth Nelson prepared and read the report. APAC REPRESENTATIVE REPORT The APAC Representative reported about the active APAC transportation system for seniors and its problems; the budget changes necessitated by Federal budget changes; and the establishment of a unit system of cost control. SUNSHINE MEALS ON WHEELS Tom Malloy reported that five clients had requested yard help under the new program. Meals are taken to 51 clients, who change from month to month. The group is organizing a program to provide meals on weekends and holidays. Sharon Reusser added that the Senior Services would provide food for any West University senior needing it on weekends and holidays. COUNCIL MEETING REPORT Dorothy Rieger reported that the Council heard a request from the YMCA to cut Cason through to their parking lot and another request from Community Street residents to use the easement. The Historical Society needs volunteers for their September display. At one Council meeting only the mayor and one Council person was present. NEW BUSINESS Sharon Reusser introduced the new city manager, Sherman Yehl, who talked to Board members about his previous experience with senior services and the West University Senior Service, as well as the activities of Sunshine Meals and APAC. He commented favorably about the number of community volunteers, including seniors. MOTION TO ADJOURN Ruth Nelson made the motion; Dianne Rogers seconded.
