CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by John Monahan, Chairperson. The readings of the minutes, previews, monthly report, and treasurer's reports were omitted. GUESTS REPORT Cindy Neal, chairperson of the Recycling Committee, Ed Menville, Public Works Director, and Louis Robertson, Fleet Manager, outlined for the Board the proposed changes in solid waste, yard waste, and recycling programs. The group displayed the plan for a West University Place Recycling Center that has been proposed to City Council. The Center would be open to residents and nonresidents on a 24-hour basis. Other proposals include lowering the cost of solid waste pickup to $11.00 a month with no change for seniors, but with an additional charge of $1.00 for each bag over two per pickup. Yard waste would be picked up only if placed in special bags that will cost $3.00 each under the proposal. Input about the proposals was requested. They also said that a Focus Group would be held before a final decision is made. SUNSHINE MEALS ON WHEELS Tom Malloy reported that the service has 52 clients. COUNCIL MEETING REPORT Dorothy Rieger reported that County Commission Radack had donated additional money for the proposed work on Judson Park. She also said that a public meeting was held on the budget bu that no one had showed up. In other Council business, bonds were sold to finance the ongoing replacement of city infrastructure and a resident requested that parking be permitted only on on, side of Rice. NEW BUSINESS John Monahan, senior representative on the Recycling Committee, emphasized that the changes outlined are only proposals at present. He said that more citizen input is needed. MOTION TO ADJOURN Ruth Nelson made the motion; Dorothy Rieger seconded.
