The Senior Services Board met in the Senior Wing of the Community Building.
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by John Monahan, Chairperson.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes were read by the secretary. Tom Malloy motioned to approve; Ruth Ann Wissel
seconded.
PREVIEWS AND MONTHLY REPORT
The previews and monthly report were read by Sharon Reusser. Dianne Rogers motioned to
approve; Ruth Nelson seconded.
TREASURER'S REPORT
The report was read by the treasurer. Tom Malloy motioned to accept; Ruth Ann Wissel
seconded.
SUNSHINE MEALS ON WHEELS
Tom Malloy reported that the service currently has 49 clients. He announced that meals can
also be given to caretakers and that two meals are delivered to those who are bedridden.
These two additions are possible because this is not a federal program. Each client also
receives a quart of milk weekly.
COUNCIL MEETING
Dorothy Rieger reported that City Council heard requests to change an easement so that
owners of a house built partially on that easement can own the property and to declare a street
private property in exchange for two parcels of property. Also heard by Council were Zoning
Commission recommendations to permit contruction of larger houses including third stories and
for additional extensions of porches. A public meeting on the subject was tentatively scheduled.
RECYCLING COMMITTEE
John Monahan, senior representative on the Committee, reported that a trial of the proposed
trash bags by 100 residents has been considered completely satisfactory.
OLD BUSINESS
Sharon Reusser said that the city manager has scheduled monthly meetings on various topics,
including drugs and alcohol, dealing with difficult people, and sexual harrassment. Free flu
shots are available to all city employees.
NEW BUSINESS
Tom Malloy motioned, with Ruth Ann Wissel seconding, that Ruth Nelson be named permanent
treasurer. The motioned passed unanimously with Ruth Nelson abstaining. Sharon Reusser
will notifiy City Council of the change. A letter will be written to Randy Hardy thanking him for
his services as treasurer. He will continue as a member of the Senior Services Board.
Sharon Reusser will be on vacation October 21-31.
Dianne Rogers was presented a baby gift with the Board's good wishes.

Dianne Rogers made the motion; Dorothy Rieger seconded.
