OCTOBER 8, 1998

CALL TO ORDER:
The Senior Services Board meeting was called to order by Mary Lee Gray at 2:30.
Tom Malloy was appointed Acting Secretary.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes were read by the Acting Secretary. It was noted the AARP and Sunshine
Meals on Wheels reports were omitted. The minutes were approved with these additions.
PREVIEWS AND MONTHLY REPORT:
Sharon Reusser read the previews. John Valcik moved acceptance which passed.
Members will read the monthly report individually.
TREASURER'S REPORT:
There was no Treasurer's report as the statement was not received form the bank.
AARP REPORT:
There was no AARP report due to the absence of Ruth Ann Wissel.
SUNSHINE MEALS ON WHEELS:
Tom Malloy reported continuation of slight variation in the number of clients which
currently is 52. There were no unusual happenings.
APAC REPORT:
Betty Aillet gave this report. She mentioned that she is being urged to serve on one of their
committees.
CITY COUNCIL:
Dorothy Zink reported on the recent Town Meeting on traffic and the Council meeting.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Mary Lee Gray requested comments from the members on the proposed
Report to City Council. Copies will be available for review in the Senior
Services office. This presentation to Council has been delayed until October
26.
2.' Mary Lee Gray also reported on a recent meeting regarding the 75th
Anniversary celebration. Points included a suggestion to honor (recognize)
40 year residents, a proposal to coordinate home lighting with the lighting of
the City Hall tree and the possibility of a city fair as an enlargement of the
PTA school fair.
3. John Valcik reported that water samples have been tested for the presence of
lead or copper. Three of 30 samples showed presence of these metals.
ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned by the Chairperson Gray at 3:47 p.m.
