HomeMy WebLinkAboutssminutes041300City of West University Senior Services Board of directors meeting Minutes for 04/13/00 Ken Moore, vice chairperson called the Senior Services Board of Directors to order at 2:30. Ken Moore introduced the new Senior Activity Coordinator, Pat Voros. The board welcomed her. The new board member Maureen Beck was introduced. Roll call members present were, Betty Aillet, Joe Graf, Maureen Graf, George Harbeson, Tom Malloy, Ken Moore, Lynn Old, Alice O'Neill, Bob Park, Sharon Reusser, Dalia Stokes, and Dorothy Zink. Absent: Mary Lee Gray, Lorraine Greenleaf, and Stan McCandless. No minutes available to read. Sharon Reusser read the previews. Alice O'Neill made a motion to accept and Dorothy Zink seconded the motion. Motion carried. Joe Graf gave Treasure's Report balance $4,096.32. Meals on Wheels - 56 meals delivered. New location for meals to be picked up for easier delivery is being discussed. Recycle report - Bob Parks reports new plastic containers for plastic bags. AAAC report from Dorothy Zink. May is Elder Law Day at Bayland Center. A HUD representative will be speaker. May 4 is their next meeting date. Council meeting report from Dorothy Zink. Lengthy discussion on zoning of churches and schools property to protect single family neighborhoods, other topics discussed. Street designs to Edloe and Auden and Edloe and Rice decided. Sidewalk improvements discussed. Good Neighbor Team Board meeting. Thanks to Mary Lee for designing and ordering tee shirts. Visiting teams are in action. Need volunteers for duty on heavy trash day April 29 to hand out Good Neighbor information. New business - Lynn Old will publish Newsletter end of April. Feature article will be on the Good Neighbor Team with picture of logo. Need volunteers with any news items - inform seniors of discount on garbage and the fact that the Fire Department will install smoke alarms. Dalia Stokes reported some Historical Society news. They will place historical markers in W.U. April 21. Office will be closed Good Friday.
