Guests Mayor Lewis, City Manager Sherman Yehl and Parks and Recreation Director Mark Mailes. Mary Lee introduced Mr. Yehl. He explained the proposed leveling of fees, especially for non-resident participants. Council feels that Seniors, like other groups of non-residents should pay a fair share of the expenses involved in operating Senior Services. A question and answer period followed. A particular concern of the Board was whether the imposing of fees was contrary to the principle of "services" to seniors. No other area groups put a surcharge on non-residents. Also the proposed fee for use of the mini-bus was felt to be excessive. It was decided that the Board prepare a position paper to be presented to Council at the June 26th Special Session. Mary Lee urged all members to contact her with opinions and suggestions for this report and asked members to attend that meeting. Previews: Were not read. Members urged to read on their own.
