HomeMy WebLinkAboutssminutes071300City of West University Senior Services Board of directors meeting Minutes for 07/13/00 Mary Lee Gray called meeting to order at 2:30 P.M. Roll call members present were, Betty Aillet, Maureen Beck, Mary Lee Gray, George Harbeson, Tom Malloy, Ken Moore, Sharon Reusser, and Dorothy Zink. Absent: Joe Graf, Maureen Graf, Lorraine Greenleaf, Stan McCandless, Lynn Old, Alice O'Neill, Bob Park, Dalia Stokes. Minutes read and approved - by Tom Malloy, Dorothy Zink seconded. Sharon Reusser read the previews. No Treasurer's report. Ken Moore was appointed temporary treasurer. Sunshine Meals - Tom Malloy presented newspaper article about the lady cook for CCSC. Recycle report - No report. APAC No June meeting Council meeting report - Dorothy Zink reported Council approved new W.U. Motto "A Neighborhood City." Good Neighbor Team - More volunteers needed to help with follow up on people and to make phone calls. Volunteer Luncheon will be November 8, 2000. Senior Census - Ken Moore is working on it. There are over 1000 seniors. Newsletter - No report. Previous Business - Pat Voros reported the volunteers need to give her the hours they work. Mailing list is 1029 for seniors and 476 near seniors. New Business - Future activities of the board: Keep good neighbor program going. Plan programs for 55 - 60 group; some suggestions - pot luck dinners, ball game trips, speakers on aging health - care givers seminars. Budget was discussed. The $6,000.00 a year donated to Sunshine meals comes out of the Senior budget and we discussed the possibility of it being listed on the budget separately. New furniture is planned for hall and the purchase of a color printer. Office supplies $300.00 a year.
