HomeMy WebLinkAboutssminutes091400City of West University Place Senior Services Advisory Board Meeting for September 14, 2000 Chairperson Mary Lee Gray called the meeting to order at 2:29 Members Present: Ken Moore, Tom Malloy, Maureen and Joe Graf, Alice O'Neill, George Harberson, Lynn Old, Maureen Beck, Betty Aillet, Dalia Stokes Absent: Dorothy Zink, Stan McCandlass, Bob Park Minutes of the August 10`h meeting for read, corrected, and approved. Corrections: Betty Aillet was not present. Report for Sunshine Meals should read that 56 meals were delivered to WU out of 195 meals Previews: each member was asked to read the previews as Sharon Reusser, Senior Services Manager was on vacation Treasurer's Report: read from September 14`h and approved. An addendum was added to reflect the following changes. $767.00 was deposited in total for the Enron Trip. $753.97 was paid out to Dave and Busters. The balance was $13.03. Twenty-two dollars had been collected from each Person. Reports: Sunshine Meals on Wheels: The count was 56. They are still working on getting drivers. Tom Malloy reported that Debbie was delighted to know of the volunteers from Bellaire High School for Thanksgiving deliveries. Recycle: none APAC: none City Council: none Good Neighbor: Mary Lee Gray reported that the Policy and Procedures would be completed and reviewed at the next meeting. Policy on matching volunteers with seniors was changed to improve communications. Senior Census: no additional information at this time Newsletter: The newsletter was reviewed. Lynn requested comments and changes to be called to her before noon tomorrow. A Questionnaire will be added to the newsletter. Volunteers will be called to fold and staple next week. Old Business: Policy and Procedure Document: reviewed and changes made. It will be reviewed again at the next meeting. CCSC Everyone had a copy of the thank you letter from CCSC and reviewed it. Comments were noted by the Chair and a letter will be sent to City Council New Business: Dorothy Zink resigned from the Board. Further discussion will take place at the next meeting. A search will begin for a replacement Board Member. The meeting was adjourned at 4PM.
