HomeMy WebLinkAboutssminutes030801City of West University Place 03/27/2001 Senior Services Advisory Board Meeting Minutes of 03/08/2001 The Senior Services Advisory Board Meeting was called to order at 2:35 P.M. by President Mary Lee Gray and Sharon Reusser took minutes. The following Board members and Staff were present: Mary Lee Gray, Betty Aillet, Jeannine Bergt, Ann Bertini, Joe Graf, Lorraine Greenleaf, George Harbeson, Tom Malloy, Stan McCandless, Ken Moore, Lynn Old, Sharon Reusser, Dalia Stokes, and Mayor Linda Lewis and J.B. Thompson were guests. The Minutes of the previous month were read and accepted. Monthly Previews were read and approved. The Treasurer's Reports for February and March were read and accepted. The Activity Report was read and discussed. Tom Malloy gave his Sunshine Meals on Wheels Report. West University will be honored at CCSC'S Azalea Party March 29, along with three other organizations. The Recycling Committee report by Stan McCandless was a recap of the blue recycle bins and how they can be exchanged for ones with wheels. There was no APAC report, but members were told that Maureen Beck, the new representative, had attended the meeting. Linda Lewis told the members that the sidewalk situation was on the front burner. She also asked if the Board could help at the Homeplace celebration in October. The Good Neighbor Team reported that they will have a mail out in the May water bills high-lighting themselves and Senior Services. They also have designed a card to be given to the Fire and Police Departments who will be distributed to those who may benefit from our combined services. The Hi Neighbor newsletter will be giving information to the Newcomer's Club to add to their publication. April 15 is the expected mailing date for the next Hi Neighbor edition. Another mailing list update is being printed and will be mailed with the April water bills. Mary Lee distributed copies of our present mailing list for members to look over and make known changes. Betty Aillet gave an activity report. Under New Business, a committee of Ann Bertini, Stan McCandless, Lynn Old and J.B. Thompson were approved to discuss future needs of the Seniors in West University. Several members made comments in the Announcement section of the agenda. The meeting was adjourned at 4:00. SENIOR SERVICES TREASURER'S REPORT April 12, 2001 BALANCE: 03/08/01 $3,216.66 A check for $3,216.66 will be written to the City of West University Place to close this account. All future transactions will be handled through the City of West University Place. Pat Voros
