HomeMy WebLinkAboutssminutes071201City of West University Place 07/23/2001 Senior Services Advisory Board Meeting Minutes of 07/12/2001 The Senior Services Advisory Board Meeting was called to order at 2:35 P.M. by Chair Mary Lee Gray and Sharon Reusser took minutes. The following Board members and Staff were present: Chair Mary Lee Gray, George Harbeson, Tom Malloy, Stan McCandless, Ken Moore, Lynn Old, Alice O'Neill, Staff Sharon Reusser, and guest City Council Member Marilyn Griffin. The Previews were read and approved. The Treasurer's Report was read and approved. _ There was no Recycle Committee report. Sunshine Meals On Wheels is up to 61. Tom Malloy reported that a few had flood problems in early June. There was no APAC report. Mary Lee Gray reported on some of the City Council meetings. They have been discussing the flooding problems around the Southwest side of West U, emergency procedures, lot usage, sidewalks and the YMCA purchase. Committee Reports: The Good Neighbor Team has developed a Flying Squad - volunteers who can do chores on a short - term emergency basis. Lynn Old requested that anyone who had an article for the next issue should contact her. Previous Business: Maureen Beck will meet with Sherman Yehl to discuss computer needs. The second CPR first aid meeting will be held Friday, July 13, 2001. New Business: Discussion on emergency information cards from the 911 system, a senior check-up system, reminders to fill out the form to re-up for the board. Louise Bering and John Neighbors were recommended to be members. Announcements: Donation to Omega House for Lorraine Greenleaf are to be given to staff for forwarding to the organizations. Mary Lee Gray announced her resignation. The meeting was adjourned at 3:40. Respectfully submitted by Sharon Reusser. SENIOR SERVICES TREASURER'S REPORT AUGUST 09, 2001 BALANCE: 06/30/01 $3,216.66 A check for $3,216.66 will be written to the City of West University Place to close this account.
