Senior Services Advisory Board Meeting Minutes of 11/08/2001
The Senior Services Advisory Board Meeting was called to order at 2:35 P.M. by Stan
McCandless, acting as chair and Sharon Reusser took minutes.
The meeting was begun at 2:05 by Ken Moore. Those in attendance: Betty Aillet,
Maureen Beck, Jeannine Bergt, Joe Graf, George Harbeson, Anne Hershiser, Tom
Malloy, Stan McCandless, Ken Moore, Mary Ryerson, and Elizabeth Young. Staff
members Sherman Yehl, Mark Mailes, and Sharon Reusser were also present.
Sherman Yehl directed the Board towards thoughts of their mission statement. His flip
chart notes are attached. After discussion, the major goals for the year include increased
communications with residents, including the continuation of the Hi Neighbor Newsletter
with the Board writing the articles and staff membersdoing the editing. The computer
center should be up and running by the end of the year. There have been several people
who have indicated that they will be tutors. Discussions were also made about how to
use post card direct mailing for special events, i.e., the computer center and health fair.
The regular business of the Board was pre-empted. Anne Hershiser agreed to, was
nominated for and voted in to be the new Chair. No one agreed to be the secretary.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:30.
