Previous Meeting's Minutes Approved
Election of Board Secretary: Maureen Beck elected.
Sneak Previews: upcoming events were reviewed. January 10"' next board meeting,
January 11th Open House Computer Center.
Sunshine Meals: 53 receiving meals in West University out of 180 total for CCSC.
Recycle Meeting: No report
APAC Report: Last meeting of the year involved a service opportunity for the group. We
packed up small bags of personal items for nursing home residents
Council Meeting Report: Improvements to Colonial Park are going forth but the exact
start date is not set. The City has bought theYMCA.
Old Business:
Mission Statement: reviewed with the following highlights.
Purpose - agreed on
Responsibilities- discussion about the definition of social services, what it is, what
are we responsible for and should this be better defined?
Goals - computer training HCC was approached about group training. Stan is
awaiting the response. An email account system needs to be set up.
Age group- discussion about the 50 year old entry age. Is there enough
transportation? Will we be obligated to meet the increased demand with an
increased eligible population? Voted to make the starting age 55. Other
available programs opened to all ages.
Neighbor to neighbor support is growing.
Transportation: need more drivers
Office help needed on Thursdays.
Newsletter - Elizabeth and Katie are putting out the newsletter.
Activities - to be worked on would be computer liason and the good neighbor
outside support.
