3. Thursday, August 17: A representative from the Silver Sleuth organization
will talk to the AARP. 2:00 - 4:00.
4. Friday, August 18:
A. Defensive driving course at 9:00. $10.00 payable to AARP
volunteer instructor.
B. - Monthly Parkinson Foundation luncheon with lecture on
nutrition. 11:00 - 2:00.
5. Tuesday, August 22:
A. Impromptu van trip to the new Morman Temple in Northwest
Houston. 9:15 -12:30. Free.
B. More of Ron's travel videos. 2:00 - 3:30.
6. Wednesday, August 23: A viewing of Olympic Gold at the IMAX. Leaving
at 12:15 for the 1:00 show. $4.00.
7. Friday, August 25:
A. Second part of the AARP defensive driving. 9:00 -1:00.
B. Poetry group meets at the library. 1:00 - 2:00.
8. Tuesday, August 29:
A. Great books discussion group at noon.
B. Ron's travel videos at 2:00.
9. Wednesday, August 30: End of summer with our Ice Cream Social and
magical entertainment. 1:00 - 2:00. $2.00.
10. Tuesday, September 5: The last of the travel videos. 2:00 - 3:30. Free.
11. Thursday, September 7: AARP Board meets at 2:00.
12. Friday, September 8: Radio Days Brown Bag. Listen to old radio shows.
Bring a lunch. Noon -1:30. Free.
13. Tuesday, September 12: Tour the Splendor of Rome: The 18`h Century at
the MFA. 9:30 - noon. $5.00 for admission, $4 or $5 for the audio tour.
14. Thursday, September 14: Next Board Meeting at 2:30.
