1. Friday, August 10: Keys to Successful Aging presented by Nancy Hillmer of
the Buchingham. All ages are invited. 10:00 -11:00. Free.
2. Tuesday, August 14: Meet Lucy, the Bellaire Police Department detective
hound. All ages are invited. 2:00 - 3:00. Free.
3. Wednesday, August 15: Lunch Bunch going to the La Mora Cunica Toscana
in the Montrose area. 12:00 - ?
4. Thursday, August 16: Good Neighbor Team meets at City Hall. 1:30 - 2:30.
5. Friday, August 17: The Parkinson Foundation of Harris County holds their
monthly meeting with a speaker on the aging eye, a luncheon and support
groups. 11:00 - 2:00.
6. Wednesday, August 22: Take a mini-bus trip to view the IMAX film on
"Amazing Caves." 1:00 - 3:30. $4.50.
7. Tuesday, August 28: Great Books Discussion Group. Noon -1:30. Free.
8. Wednesday, August 29: Enjoy the annual ice cream social. A line dance
troupe will entertain and toppings of all sorts will help you make your own
special sundaes. 1:00 - 2:00. $2.00.
9. Thursday, August 29: It's finally happened! We have the Precinct Three
bus on the same day as an Astro's day game. 1:30 - ? $10:00. (Sold out.)
10. Friday, September 7: The Friday Morning Lectures are open to all ages.
The subjects today will be the Cos Cob impressionists and the Art Guys
Suits. 9:30 - noon. Price based on membership and age.
11. Tuesday, Septemberl1: Learn about the Vikings at the MNS. 1:30 - 3:30.
$0 - $8.00, depending on membership.
12. Thursday, September 13: Next board meeting. 2:30 - ? Free.
Sneak Preview:
1. Tuesday, September 18: The rescheduled all ages lectures on "Letting Go of
Clutter" with Mike Nelson. 2:00 - 3:00. Donations accepted.
2. Thursday, September 20 - Take a tour of Houston's haunted buildings with
an experienced guide. The price includes a light dinner at one the spooky
spots! 6:30 - 9:30. $26.00/$27.00.
3. Wednesday, September 26: We're traveling to Chappell Hill and Brenham
for tours of museums, antique stores and more. 8:30 - 5:30. $10.00.
