1. Tuesday, December 17: The best local Holiday Party is being held today. The
beautiful decorations, delicious luncheon and uplifting entertainment will help
make your holidays the best ever. Invite a friend to come along 11:00 -1:00.
$2.00.
2. Tuesday, January 7: A group is planned to Moody Gardens Rain Forest
Habitat. This outing will warm us in the chilly month of January with a taste
of the tropics. The-forest -is-warm, green and lush. Live tropical birds,
waterfalls, brightly colored fish and butterflies lend an air of authenticity
making the visitor feel as though they have stepped into an island paradise.
Lunch will be provided at the Garden Cafe soup salad and baked potato bar.
9:00 - 3:30 PM. $18.00.
3. In addition to the Holiday Party and Moody Gardens there are several new on
going programs that will be put into place this month. There will be a walking
club every Monday at 9:00. We will either walk in the West U Park or go to a
close by mall. Sit and get fit exercises will continue at 11:00 both Monday,
Wednesday and Friday. Bridge will also be available Monday at 10:00.
4. First Tuesday is a health screening program. The first Tuesday of each month
there will be blood pressure and cholesterol screenings available. Tuesday
early riser exercise will continue each Tuesday and Thursday.
5. Tuesday 2:00: Ceramic classes will start again. Patsy will show some new
techniques with stains and fabric coating.
6. Second Wednesday is an ongoing music program at Montrose Library. Third
Wednesday will continue to be Lunch Bunch Beading class will also continue
every Wednesday at 1:00.
7. Parkinson exercises will be ongoing each Thursday at 10:30
8. Parkinson Lunch will be the third Friday at 11:00 and Bingo will continue at
3:00.
Sneak Preview:
1. Monday, January 13: Senior Services is providing an informational session on
Property Taxes, presented by Walter Thomas, Director of The City of West
University Place Department of Finance. He will present information on future rates,
laws, installment plans and deferrals. He will also answer any questions you may
have on related issues. 2:00 - 3:00. Free. All ages are
