1. Monday, May 13: IMAX film on Kilimanjaro at the HMNS. Mini bus leaves
at 3:00 for the 4:00 show. $4.00/$4.50.
2. Tuesday, May 14: Great Books Discussion Group meets. Noon -1:30. Free.
3. Wednesday, May 15: Lunch Bunchers going to Two Chefs Restaurant on
Westheimer. Noon - 2:30.
4. Thursday, May 16:
A: Houston has invited us to visit the zoo for part of the Older Adult
Month celebrations held throughout May. 1:00 - 4;00._ Free
B: Good Neighbor Team meeting at the Conference Room at City Hall.
2:00 - 3:00.
5. Tuesday, May 21: We've been invited to a tea party at the Terrace on
Buffalo Speedway. 3:00 - 4:30. Free.
6. Tuesday, May 28:
A. Another Older Adult moment thanks to Houston City Council. We
will take the mini bus to the George R. Brown to some health
screenings and speeches too! 9:00 -1:00. Free
B. Tai Chi classes move from our building to the Tai Kwon Do
establishment on Bellaire near the YMCA. Call for times and prices.
7. Wednesday, June 5: We will travel via mini-bus to the Antique Center of
Texas for a seminar, lunch and shopping. If you have antiques (especially
Victorian jewelry) Jay will do an appraisal. 10:00 - 2:00. Price depends on
your purchases!
8. Monday, June 10: All ages are invited to the seminar given by Adelle Segel
on how to design or redesign your house to accommodate yourself for life.
2:30 - 3:30. Free.
9. Wednesday, June 12: Secondwednesday Music at the Freed/Montrose
Library. Bring your sack lunch - they have drinks. 11:30 -1:30. Free.
10. Thursday, June 13: Next Board meeting. 2:00 - 3:00.
Sneak Preview:
1. Thursday June 20: Mini - bus trip for another tour of Project Row Houses.
It's supposed to be a great show. 1:00 - 3:00. Donations accepted
2. Friday, June 21 and 28: Defensive Driving classes offered through AARP.
