Wed. Jan. 12: Tour KUHF Radio/TV station. A guided tour of public radio that
includes: Radio 88.717M and Television Channel 8 broadcast facilities. 8:30. Free.
Thurs. Jan. 13: MFA Cartier Exhibit. A docent led tour that takes us through an
exhibit of some of the most spectacular Cartier jewelry in the world. 1:15. Free.
Tues. Jan. 18: Cleveland/Huntsville Trip. We will head to Cleveland for a hands on
guided tour through Cheesemakers, Inc. cheese factory. Then we will head out for a
buffet lunch that specializes in cheeses from the factory. After lunch we will go to
Huntsville to peruse the Sam Houston Museum. 8:00-5:00. $16.00.
Thurs. Jan 20: Scams and Frauds. Don't miss this fascinating presentation from the
Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan Houston. Program director Barbara McGinty
speaks on consumer issues related to fraud/scams across 10 counties. Come and learn
how to protect yourselves from fraudulent business practices. 10:30. Free.
Tues. Jan. 25: International Theme Meal. Join us for food from Australia, China,
Mexico and America. A fantastic hodgepodge of delicious food and entertainment. This
promises to be a unique experience. 11:30. $4.00.
Thurs Jan. 27: Houston Chronicle Tour. We are going on a guided tour of the
Houston Chronicle. The tour is through the entire facility - there will be lots of
standing and walking as well as climbing a flight of stairs. 12:15. $4.00.
Mon. Jan. 31: Opera In the Heights special 1 hr. production of Louisa Miller. The
tragic story of the love between a village girl and a count named Rodolfo. Due to an
arranged marriage the count is unable to marry the beautiful Louisa. Enjoy
performance highlights supported with narration. 9:45. $5.00.
